Windows XP installation ERROR MESSAGE???

I recently re-uploaded Windows XP Home Edition on my laptop, but when I turned on my computer, it says it is completing installation. However, a few seconds in, an error message occurs saying something about a necessary file for the installation could not be accessed. The file is something like D:I386.... or something similar. Why won't this work? I have the installation CD, but I can't get past this error message, it just keeps restarting after I cancel out of the window. PLEASE HELP!!!
