windows 98?

how do i start the compuiter in ms dos mode. i cannot simply click start, shutdown, restart in ms dos mode because that option isnt there. and i cannot press F8 at the computer startup. and i dont have a bootdisk. so is there any other way to get the computer to boot in ms dos mode?
