Depends.Plasma - You have a chance of burn in if you play a lot of video games/watch sports where there is score/symbol somewhere on the screen for too long, but that should not be a problem if you adjust the screen so to the right brightness. In addition plasma does not work well at high elevations, if you live in the mountains. Plasma gas in the TV will disappear slowly so the picture quality will deteriorate somewhat after 3-5 years. However, Plasma does offer the best picture clarity and best black levels of everything out there.LCD - Basically a humongous computer monitor! The black levels are not as good as Plasma.
