on the basis on monetary value, i would say pricing would play a big difference

Plasma Tv's are cheaper than LCD Tv's especially the larger you go. The ironic thing is that the picture quality of a large (50 inches or higher) plasma TV is much better than that of an LCD TV. If you are interested in High Definition TV, extra pros and cons need to be considered. LCD TV's are the only ones that offer a true High-def picture but plasmas aren't too far behind.
