An Intel dual-core processor consists of two complete execution cores in one physical processor (right), both running at the same frequency. Both cores share the same packaging and the same interface with the chipset/memory. Overall, an Intel dual-core processor offers a way of delivering more capabilities while balancing power requirements, and is the first step in the multi-core processor future.if you need more info on the dual core processors visit http://www.intel.com/technology/computin...2Dcore/The price ranges from $254.99 for a 2.8Ghz to $1029.99 for a 3.2Ghzhttp://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...rformance: The intel dual core processors run at 800Mhz bus speed compaired to the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core processors that run at 2000Mhz or 2Ghz bus speed. As far as quality I don't think the processors have been on the market long enough to have all the bugs worked out of them yet. But I don't this is a reason not to buy one. I would love to have a dual-core processor, I just don't have the money. Also before you run out and buy one you will need make sure that your motherboard has a socket 775.
