802.11g is the language that wireless speaks. Your Your wireless card and your wireless router must speak the same language. Other languages include 802.11b for example.54Mbit is the fastest possible transfer rate you could get on that particular device. You will never get close to that because the technology doesn't work that way. It's just a number really. Wireless is pleanty fast, don't get me wrong, it just isn't a full 54megabit. (An ethernet wired connection is 100megabit and if it is done right, with a switch, and high quality cabling, then you can get close to that 100megabit throughput)Broadrange technology is some sort of addition to that device that helps increase it's range. You may have to buy a matching device for the other end of the wireless connection in order to take advantage of that setting.The other stuff is hype or not enough information for me to interpret for you.
