My Toshiba Satellite M40x-RH4 has a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-831S drive. It can read cds and dvds no problem but when I try to burn it fails at the end. Usually, however, this only happens when I'm making a proper disk - using either Nero 6 or DVD Shrink. When I use Sonic Record Now It's fine. The computer is 2 years old and has treated me fairly well. The drive started botching burns around June-July this year on and off. Tonight I have 2 frisbees at my feet as a result of this drive. Is there a cure for this insubordination? Or do I need to back up this beast and find an external writer?I currently use DVD+R by Maxell, however, they do work providing I use Sonic and not the other two programs...
