What can i do if i have an antivirus up to...

...date and is not able to take adware and spyware out of my computer? I have McAfee Security center up to date and is not able to take adware and spyware out of my computer. The yahoo spy toolbar is telling me that i have ISearch (Spyware) and ImIServer IEPlugin (Adware). Is it dangerous to use this computer and internet while i have these in my computer?
