Ventrilo Server Setup (Free 10 spot one)?

I tried to make a Vent server for free. I know it can only hold 10 people. That's ok. I'm having trouble. I connect to it fine. My other friends cant. I tell them hostname/I.P and the port. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I've searched around for help. I see the website instructions, and the ones in comes with. I need help please. Step by step starting instructions, starting at after installation of the VentSrv would be the best. Thanks.Please do not show me the website link or tell me about the instructions it comes with.
