...2000 crashed)? I have a laptop, nothing new, it's a Dell Latitude CPx with Windows 2000.Unfortunately, I haven't used it for a few years because the last time I tried I received this message: "Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: WINNTSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEMced startup options for Windows 2000, press F8." (Yeah, the bit at the end is just some of the previous message that doesn't erase from the screen...) It then tells me that I can "attempt to repair this file by starting Windows 2000 Setup using the original Setup floppy disk or CD-ROM."Yeah, that's all fine and dandy except that I don't have a startup disc. Heck, I don't even know where it came from! My dad brought it home from work one day and... yeah. So, my question is, can I repair my laptop without using a disc?If you know how, can you maybe explain in a way I can understand since I have no idea how the important parts of computers work? Thanks.
