or the motherboard.? It's a 5 year old emachine that has never before failed me. I went traveling for 4 months and now that I'm back it refuses to turn on. The fan, hard drives and cd drives spin up like usual. The motherboard does it's standard one beep at starting, however nothing else happens. The lights on the mouse and keyboard don't go on and the screen doesn't get any signal.I've tried reseating and rearranging the memory. Since i get the beep i assume/hope the motherboard is ok. Is there anything left besides finding a different processor to test with?I do need a new computer, but I'd like to have a computer at all until i stockpile enough cash to get something of some quality.I've already unplugged the hard drives. they aren't the issue. i can't get screen/mouse/keyboard output even without them connected.It has also been unplugged and was stored in a closet.
