Try burning at a slower speed.Your writing laser may be dying or dead.Your media might also be "too fast" for a 24X burn (slow by today's standards)The media might also be "too slow" and writing at a slower speed may also solve that issue. Not all media is actually the speed the are advertised at.Also try not doing anything else (close all apps) while burning.

All i can advise is to increase your computer's virtual memory. How to do it? Got to Control Panel-> System-> Advance-> Performance -> Settings-> Increase your virtual memory. Restart your computer.

The unit reed automatically the the maximum speed suported for you disks (CD-ROMs)And your disk are not so good and dont suport this 1. before burning modify manual the spped at less than 24x(or less than maximum)Right click on the selected disk>proprierties>burn and modify the value in write speed box2. Buy other CD-ROMs ()with the mention Certified at 24x

that's the problem with samsung cd writers, we also have one here. I suggest you install nero, an option there that says simulation before proceeding to the real copy.
