Motherboard Ports Problem...?

I have COMPAQ EVO D510 with windows xp installed, i am having the problems with my mouse and speakers.Some times mouse and speaker cease to work and when i switch the cable again in thier ports they start working fine. plz tell me how to solve this prob.REGARDSOMER BAIG
