just bought a Windows vista PC, installed XP...

...PRO SP2 and now it has no sound, why? yeah, I dont know why but it doesnt have sound iut says that theres no hardware, my PC its a HP , and I downloaded SOundMax for XP and still cant install it , wut could I doiwnload to get my PC to have sound??
