Is using someone else's copy of windows to...

...reinstall on your pc (b/c you lost you own CD) illegal? I can't find my copy of windows, and I was asking to borrow someone else's in a yahoo group, but the mod won't apoprove the msg b/c she says it's illegal.I doesn't seem logical.. I have the software right now - on my computer. I still have the license/ certificate for it...Why would it be illegal to install form someone else's CD??
