Is anyone else having problems downloading

itunes 7.5 for IPOD touch? It only downloads partway and freezes? Note; I have windows xp installed and I've checked compatability. I've also been to the apple/support site and they recommend to uninstall original Itunes / Quick time which I've done. Still no luck.....
