IDE motherboard burned up. Can I use any IDE computer

to access my hard drive for recovery? Emachine T2893 2.66 Ghz motherboard out. Windows XP. IDE. Can I plug my hard drive into any IDE computer to recover my data? Or.. buy an used T2893 or some other IDE computer, plug my hard drive into it, to access or recover my data? If not, please tell me if there is an easy way (or any way) to plug my hard drive into something, to make it usable for access and/or recovery.
