HP DVD 1040i Burner Can't be recognized?

I just bought and installed my HP DVD burner and it will not respond. It can't even read the installation CD, I had to use another drive to install the software. It shows up in hardware manager but has a yellow exclamation mark. I cannot find any drivers on HP website to install. So it can't read CD's or DVD's and when I try to burn it can't find the drive at all. Any ideas where I can get some kind of drivers, firmwares, etc for this thing?
