How to setup an e-mail signature using

Thunderbird ? I wanna set a signature so it auto-send when sending mail using Mozilla Thunderbird.I read the instructions in mozilla website but it just told me to save my signature with notepad somewhere in my pc, and no instructions in how to actually set the signature.Could anyone explain me please?
