I bought a General Electric Hotpoint gas range few weeks ago. Already my cooking so far is leaving black marks on the burner caps. The manual says to use only hot soapy water and plastic scouring pad to remove burned on particles, but none of this works. It warns against using steel wool or scouring powders. What else would work?
