how do I setup a win2000 server to use it's two

nics - one for WAN and one for LAN? I have a win2000 server with two nics. One nic is connected to my broadband connection as a web server. I'd like to connect the other nic to my LAN so that I can easily copy and paste files to it using the LAN computers. How do I setup this configuration?ColinCThe servers first nic is connected to my braodband via a firewall device that has LAN,WAN and DMZ connections - the server is connected to DMZ and the lan PC's are connected to LAN with a 8 port hub between them and the firewall. I'd like to connect the second nic on the server to the 8 port hub on the LAN

Hi there,It's quite simple i think. As you already have 1 NIC connected to your broadband connection, configure it as per your ISP configurations such as the IP address and also the DNS address. Put the name of this connection as External or whatever the you want, just to make the different name between your NICs connection. Then for the second NIC, just configure it as per your LAN configuration by internal IP Address and gateway.Warm Regards.

i shall give u the card configuration by assumption ,u can change it as per ur requirement . for example ur : LAN IP is 10.0.0.1 -10.0.0.255your wan ip :61.11.83.2/24 & 61.11.83.1 as gateway ----Provided by ISP ....now the configuration will be as follows1.LAN NIC : IP :10.0.0.1Subnet Mask :255.0.0.0Gateway:----DONT PROVIDE ANY GATEWAY FOR LOCAL NIC. If u specify an gateway ip for local NIC ,then the packets will create a loop and internet may not work properly (however theres another way to resolve this )so leave the local nic gateway as Blank.2.WAN NIC IP:61.11.83.2Subnet Mask:255.255.255.0Gateway:61.11.83.1thts all done .... Configure your LAN pc's gateway as 10.0.0.1(ie:Local Nic's ip in win2k server).thats enjoy dude ,any issues buzz me ,Note ,the ip addresses provided here is only an example,it wud be different in your application/business ....Change/customise accordinlgy.
