...past the return period and avoid restocking fees? i bought a motherboard worth about 200 dollars. i open it for the first time after the return period (my fault) to find out that it was definitely used (finger prints, stickiness, wipe residue, marks around the heatsink screw holes, etc).i'm not sure if it's defective, but there's no way i'd want to risk my Q6600 and other expensive components to test it out. i can exchange it for a new one under the condition that i pay a 15% restocking fee. but why the fuck would i pay them 30 dollars to get a brand new motherboard i shouldve had in the first place?my plan is to get a friend to buy the exact motherboard in cash so he could give me the new one. a day later, i'll have my friend return the fucked up motherboard and get my money back. my question is: do you think this will work? what are the potential problems? you think they'll look at the board quickly and give my friend the money back without any issues?
