how can i install windows xp on my toshiba...

...laptop which is vista on it now? When i start to install win xp it gives an error says that there is no hard drive known on my laptop so it doesnt recognize any hard drive on my laptop,but I work with its hard drive in vista,I also have its xp drivers.
