Does anyone know of any national foundation/charity group etc that can assist with a smart but impoverished woman in Appalachia in getting her a computer, preferably some kind of Mac that's a laptop. She is living in a domestic violence/homeless shelter and is desperate to get out. She works in a tech-related field (Mac operator for a newspaper company) but is only PT and can't get enough training to better her job prospects. Local schools don't offer Mac- based training or graphic arts, and her company doesn't offer training either. Specifically, she absolutely needs InDesign and Photoshop experience, and needs more time learning Adobe and Acrobat. And asking locally about a computer hasn't provided any results. Thank you, and have a wonderful day.
