i feel as if i have a virus on my computer but my...

...norton antivirus isnt picking up on anything.? my norton antivirus says nothing is wrong but im pretty sure something is wrong. when i started up my computer it had some pretty weird text on the start up screen. should i seek help? also is there any good free online virus scans that actually work?
