I had never heard of them until recently, I've been wanting a blu ray disc player but just haven't had the cash. Do these upconverter dvd players really work, walmart has one in their flyer, a magnavox for $29.98, says converts regular dvd's to 1080p. I admit I'm pretty sceptical, if they work then why is blu ray and HD DVD taking off? I would be using it on a 32" HDTV, is this a miracle machine, a joke, or somewhere inbetween? What kind of results could I expect?
