dell latitude d610...new hard drive,...

...windows vista...font and icons huge...how do i make smaller? 1024x768? the laptop hard drive crashed and was replaced with a new one and the new operating system Windows Vista. The desktop display settings are set to the highest it can go...1024*768. But there should be more options, there used to but no longer.Is this a vista issue, or do i need to update some drivers, and if so....which ones?
