It is a technological and marketing advance. A curved screen will pick up a spot of glare SOMEWHERE on the screen almost always. It isn't very bothersome on a TV, because you'll just move a bit or close the drapes to get rid of the glare. You stay pretty much in one position if front of a monitor, so if you have a glare spot, it'll bug you, and you can't always get rid of it. Flat screen monitors don't pick up as much glare, usually. It's all or nothing for them. It makes a good selling point, so they sell more, especially if someone mistakes flat SCREEN (CRT) for flat PANEL (LCD)

less reflection. the curved glass will angle light sources more towards the viewer/more glare. There is less stretching of the picture/straighter lines, which gives you more realistic images.CRTs do still produce the best overall picture and lifespan ... the others are catching up though.

There is not a single difference between the Curved or Flat Screen Monitors of CRT. 1, because it is still a CRT monitor. I believe they create flat screen crt monitors because it redirects glares or something like that. But what the other gentlemen said, LCD would be a flat PANEL.... just to clarify. a flat SCREEN is CRT Smile happy to assist

basally who cares?CRT Monitors are obsolete except for very special purposesThey can display contrasts better then Flat Panel monitors but they are old technology. And curved Monitors have not been around for four or so years now.
