can one network technology be used for WAN

and LAN connections?

Yes. LAN stands for Local Area Network which is able to connect to the WAN (Wide Area Network) for the internet. They both use exactly the same technology, and LANs are used in schools, businesses, etc. and WANs are our main internet access networks. Without WANs, we would not be able to access high speed internet. Remember, LAN connects to WAN through the same technology.

Yes, it can be. For example TCP/IP is also used in WAN and LAN.
