Full Version: Placing motherboard's thermal sensors?

My motherboard came with 3 of these attached to long wires and I'm not sure where to put them and then how to attach them. I'm thinking 1 on the cpu, 1 on the video card, and maybe the last one with the RAM. I hear that they aren't very accurate temp gauges, but unfortunately every fan in my case is on manual speed control so I figure its something I should be paying attention to. I've read that one place people put them is between the cpu and the heatsink, but that seems a little dangerous to me (plus I've already put on my heatsink and it was a pain so I'd rather not take it back off). Also, more importantly than where, I'd like to know how you put a sensor with something and have it stay there to get the best reading (for example, should I tape the sensor to the base of the heatsink or something?)
