...Professional? I have an HP Pavillion DV8000cto notebook (out of warranty now). My hard drive crashed and I insalled a new one (Fujitsu 80 GB 5400 SATA). I have a Windows XP CD and when I try to install the operating system, I am getting an error saying that the hard drive is not installed. I ran the hard drive dignostic using Netbios and there was nothing wrong with the new hard drive. I called Fujitsu and they claim that there is nothing wrong with their drive and I need to contact HP. HP tells me that I need to remove the drive and reset it manually. I am not an expert on this sort of stuff - any help is much appreciated.the XP SP2 CD is a full install (OEM version).
