burns but Roxio does not. Is drive bad or SW? I have a 4 yr old HP Pavilion zd7000 with a yr+ problem involving the writing or viewing of pre-recorded CD's burnt from the same system a yr earlier. Original install involves Roxio 6.1.1.8 SW. I can view/open DVD's or pre-recorded instructional CD's and view files. But I "can not" open the CD's nor do they seem to be recognized upon insertion into the drive. I was able to burn using Windows but now a "can not initilize API" message appears or "insert disc appears" when a disc is in the drive. HP will not help due to it being out of warranty. Roxio will not support that original installed release and hate to discard good working laptop but don't want to buy new SW if the drive is bad. I removed the old SW and reinstall no longer works. I would need a new install. Is Roxio the brand of choice? Far simpler than time consuming windows. Help????
