Most laptops come with integrated graphics.On the higher end laptops, such as alienware and possibly the XPS line from Dell, it may be possible to update the graphics card.

I have seen a few such as Mobility Docks which contain their own Video card and use the PCMCIA slot. In one case of using a port rep. with a Gateway Laptop, there was a conflict with the Windows video properties and the 2 different video drivers. I hate to say it but I have seen few port rep./docks that perform well enough to purchase myself. Also, the video cards contained within the PRs are not the greatest.

Yes and No.Most laptops have the video card welded to the motherboard. However, there are a few that have a replaceable graphics card. You will need to read the manual or visit the manufacturers website for more information
