I want to go for a MBA. Money is most definitely not an issue. I am unable to decide which is better...GMAT/CAT? Also, I don't understand one thing...if GMAT is so easy as compared to CAT, with so many loans being offered nowadays, why do people usually strive to crack CAT rather than GMAT???
GMAT and CAT are for different segments and should not be compared. Also I am not sure what you mean by GMAT being easy. It is not an exam which you have to pass and a good GMAT score does not guarantee anything unlike CAT where a high score can almost pull you through the process. If you plan to work and gain experience abroad, GMAT is the answer. But admission into a good B School might not be easy even if you have a good score. Unlike CAT, there is a huge emphasis on your background and experience. So unless you have a 'decent' work experience (like 4-5 years of corporate exp and international work ex) you may find it really hard to sell your story. Needless to say the diversity which an international school provides is something which is impossible to achieve in India.Huge Con: The expenditure might run upto $120,000 equivalent to bout INR 5 million.CAT: There is nothing better than it if you can get a good score and want to stay in India. Though its possible to get a job abroad even through IIM, it may make more sense to join international B school. So in the end it all depends on your career plans. If you want to start some business on your own where you might require network in western country then go for international B School else CAT is the best option.Hope this helps and yah .. make sure you talk to lots of people before you decide on an option. Its not just an MBA!
