Steel in computer's cases (2nd try)? Most computer cases are steel coated with zinc to protect against corrosion. Computer cases usually specify what they use, for example 1.0mm SGCC, but the significance is unclear since I don't know how it compares to 1.0mm SECC. If SECC refers to electrogalvanization, does that mean SGCC implies the hot dip method?Online I found two different acronyms for SECC:1. Steel, Electrogalvanized, Cold-rolled, Coil.2. Sheet steel, Electrolytically coated, Cold-rolled, Commercial quality.Does anybody know the official definition? One of my friends has a metal-working shop and he doesn't know the answer. I wonder if it only has meaning in the context of computer cases?Thanks in advance for any help!
