I am trying to find out how to remove Windows...

...Vista from a new computer that had only Vista installed? I see lots of ways to revert back to a pre-installed version of XP, but none to actually do a clean removal of all traces of Windows Vista. I am told that It has files that exist in areas other than the hard drive. I want to buy a new HP, but cannot find what I want without Vista. Please Help!
